The goal of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) is to involve all employees in a company through overlapping small groups, focusing on overall profitability through zero oriented approach on losses, breakdowns, accidents, defects and pollution. TPM aims at maximizing the productivity and efficiency of equipment in manufacturing and other industrial processes.
TPM was developed in Japan in the 1960s and 1970s, and has since been widely adopted by companies around the world. It started initially as a Maintenance driven initiative. Japan Institute of Plant Maintenance (JIPM), has been relentlessly involved in developing TPM to its present state where it is respected globally. TPM encompass all business processes, all type of Organizations, including Service industries. Hence the TPM Gurus also address it as Total Productive Management

The classes will be conducted daily from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM IST, and will last for 2 hours per day. If necessary, the number of sessions may be extended. At the end of this session the participants will be able to understand the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) fundamentals through the industry examples, work out sessions and the theoretical inputs provided by the experienced faculty.
The participants will be able to guide the implementation of TPM in a step by step approach thus creating an environment of total employee involvement and continuous improvement.
TPM is not just about maintaining equipment; it's also about building a culture of continuous improvement, where employees are empowered to identify problems and make improvements to processes and systems. The benefits over a period will be seen in terms of significant improvement in overall business performance including Safety, Productivity and Quality
The examination will be conducted online.
The duration of the examination is 60 minutes, during which candidates will be required to answer multiple-choice questions that test their understanding of the course material. The questions will be presented in a format where candidates need to select the best answer out of four choices.
Candidates who successfully complete the examination will receive certificate from Gems and JIPM Certified TPM Instructor.
